SIBOL offers a wide range of equipment for respiratory protection in confined spaces.

The risks in a confined space are attached to the form, capacity, environmental conditions, works to do, lasting of the works, etc.

There are different kinds of these risks, such as noxious fumes, reduced oxygen levels, risk of fire… To these risks we have to add: narrowness of the place, discomfort of the working position, limited or no lighting, as well as the risks comming from the heat and noise, since any noise made by any machine in a confined space is much higher than in the outside.

Main risks in a confined space 

Suffocation hazard due to the lack or reduced oxygen, shiffting of oxygen, accidental leak of inert gas, freon from a cryogenic system,…

Explosion hazard due to flammable gases, combustible dust or flour. Both dust and flour are extremely hard to asses if they are explosives, because of the many determining circunstances and elements (concentration, temperature, humidity, conditions of the confined space, moment and circunstance in which the incident takes place,…) that makes impossible to have a reference value to stablish in which concentration this elements are explosive.

Poisoning or intoxication hazards due to the presence of poison gasses, mainly CO y SH2, although, depending on the place and the circunstances of the work, there is always the possiblity of other gasses.

Suffocation and asphyxiation hazard due to the products stored in the confined space (silos with grain, flour, urban wastes, etc.)

Thermal risk, humidity, heat….

Drops to a different level, stairways without protection rings or in a poor condition, works in places without protection rail, etc.

Electrical hazard, lack of protection against diferential, no electrical block, electric infrastructure in poor conditions, electrical equipment with deficient state, etc.

Contact hazard with caustic or corrosive sustances.

Biological hazard, virus, bacterias, etc.

Blow hazard due to the lack of space.

Risks due to inapropiate positions while working, knelt down, squated, etc.

Risks due to the meteorological conditions, rain, storms, etc.

Risks comming from problems with outgoing communication.

Falls of objects in the confined space.

Physical and psychic fatigue.

Mechanical hazards.

Risk of accidents with vehicles, due to the placement of the confined space (registers in roads with traffic)

Equipment for respiratory protection in confined spaces

Portable gas detectors

The Tetra 3 gas detector is a personal indicator user-friendly, with a screen in the upper side specially design to last even in the hardest industial environments.

 

The TETRA 3 allows to detect even 4 gases:

     CH4: Methane (explosivity)
     H2S: Sulfhydric acid
     CO: Carbon monoxide
     O2: Oxygen (deficiency o excess of oxygen)

Self breathing equipment with bottle 

Portable self breathing equipment for 40-50 minutes aproximately. It consit of: anatomic back, extra air intake, extension pipe, full face mask, alarm mask system, compensated reductor, quick security connectors, luminescent manometer.

Fresh air system 

This equipment allows to breathe uncontaminated air from a near area, while working in a polluted environment.

It consists of: full face mask with polycarbonate visor, double windpipe and a escape valve, 30 meter hose to conect the windpipe and a compact mini-turbine to conect the windpipe to one end and the electric supply to the other.

Chemical oxygen scape equipment

The scape equipment HEAD10 is a chemical oxygen autonomous device that lasts about 10 or 15 minutes with the aim of self rescue in case of emergency in areas with:
     Smoke
     Poisonous pollution
     Oxygen deficiency
     Potentially explosive environments

 

Scape breathing equipment with can

Scape breathing equipment with variable autonomy (15 minutes).  

It consist of: botle, pressure reducing valve, breathing tube, hood and carrying bag.
